Industry Trends: Memes

Look I am just testing out this personal brand stuff

Memes, they make us laugh, they’re shareable and have been apart of the internet since I can remember (I was a 2001 baby). Not only are they used for jokes but are now being integrated into brand strategy - and tbh I am here for it!

They are away to connect with your audience based on relatability, they allow brands and individuals to create shareable content which is probably one of the essences of virability. Memes can help brands to have their viral moment, especially when it partners hand in hand with UGC.

Great organic content for Coke and tbh i can relate and have shared this with over 5 friends who also share my love of a cheeky diet coke.

This Barbie Can

Memes help to create a relatability between a brand and their audience, as their audience can also take part! Remember the Barbie; ‘This Barbie Can.’

It allowed participating in this easy through a website https://www.barbieselfie.ai/uk/ and meant the timeline was consistently sharing the same message.

It succeeded in allowing everyone to become apart of the Barbie-verse and immerse themself into the Barbie brand. And lets be real, we all used it when it first hit! Memes are definitely useful to allow you to bring your audience into your brand.

Now for me to try and use some memes and see how audience engages with them and put what I think to the test!

Let me know how you use memes in your brand startegy!
